Flanett

Developed by Georg Gratzer, the flanett is a combination of a transverse flute and an alto saxophone.
The saxophone’s S-bow and mouthpiece are attached to the body of a classic transverse flute. The lower register produces mellow notes and an Armenian duduk-like sound while the upper range produces piercing tones that evoke images of a clarinet played in Klezmer style.
